On behalf of the Kawitenos of Southern California  we would like to give our deepest sympathy and condolences to the  Toledo Family on the death of Mr. Godofredo (Totoy) Toledo. ( the father of former KSC Secretary Tet Toledo Celestial , father-in-law of former KSC Advisor Ernesto Celestial and Grandfather of former Miss Kawit Catherine Celestial). Mang Totoy was the main man in the kitchen during Maytinis.  He was always carving away with the heavy duty meat slicer.

A devoted Kawiteno and faithful follower of our Patron Saint, Kuya Totoy was the first Kawiteno in San Diego county who made the first  andas  with picture of Saint Mary Magdalene attached at the top of it used in 1975 first fiesta karakol parade until it was replaced by a statue in 1981. That's only one of many major contributions of Kuya Totoy.

This year we will once again be celebrating the evening in music and dance with our patron saint, Santa Maria Magdalena on the waters of majestic San Diego Bay. Enjoy the beautiful sunset and warm breezes on our 3-hour cruise along the calm waters with your family, friends, classmates and kababayan. On our last cruise, we were treated to a grand spectacle of fireworks exploding literally above the ship! Tickets are $25 per person. A light snack and drinks will be provided. Each person boarding the ship is required to have a ticket. Due to safety concerns, it is recommended only children above the age of 12 attend. Kawitenos followed up their homeless outreach at the end of summer with donating a new mountain bike as the grand prize for the free raffle at the Gives Hope Christmas Eve outreach event..  Gus, a regular attendee of the weekly ministry outreach, was the happy winner of new bike.  It also included a new helmet, lock, air pump and safety lights.  For the complete report of the highly successful Christmas Eve event, go to the Gives Hope website at http://www.gives-hope.org.
